All About Climate Change

Cracking Ice ShelfWhen weather patterns change over a long period of time or becomes unpredictable it is called climate change. Usually the weather is reasonably predictable but recently scientists have been saying that the weather is changing, and will change even more in the future. This happens because of a number a reasons, the biggest one though is global warming.

When cars or factories use certain fuels they release harmful gases into the atmosphere which cause the average temperature of the earth to increase. A small increase in temperature can have big effects, especially at the North and South Poles where the ice caps can melt entirely over time.

There are a lot of ideas about exactly how global warming could change the weather patterns and no one can be absolutely sure. Most people seem to agree though that the weather will become more extreme, with more forceful storms and unpredictable weather. Climate change could also cause the death of many plants and animals which is why it’s important that we all do everything we can to help stop it.
