Arctic

The Arctic is the area inside the Arctic Circle. It includes parts of Canada, Greenland, Russia, USA, Iceland, Norway, Finland and Sweden – but most of the Arctic is a huge area of frozen sea around the North Pole. This ice cap is constantly moving, like a massive ice berg at the top of the world.
Many animals and people have lived in the Arctic region of thousands and thousands of years. It is full of natural resources like gold, fish, oil and metals. It’s also really popular for tourism.
If the frozen sea at the Arctic melts, it will cause the sea level to rise around the world. The land in the Arctic Circle is covered in ice for most of the year. If that ice melts, the whole environment will change and many animals and plants will be wiped out.
